Weekend happenings

As I sit here, writing the post, there is snow on the ground. It's April 6th, AND THERE IS SNOW! There was a considerable snow storm yesterday.

At least Saturday was a great day. Our little suburb had a kite show going on. That was a great deal of fun.

Yes, that is somebody flying the X-Wing kite.

That is an awesome kite. It's not snowing here, but it's cold and there's still plenty of snow on the ground. And we actually have a sunny day so far, something that's been missing the last couple of weeks.

Kostyan, there is something inherently wrong with cutting your own child out of the picture so that you can get a Star Wars kite...

:)

And, by the way, London had snow last year precisely on April 6th (you can check my archives for the video) - I'm sure it should be less of a surprise in that Chicagoan tundra of yours. :)

Well, I was shooting the kite.

Noone understands the genius of a true artist :)

At least now all the snow's melted away, pretty much...you know until maybe we get some more, and then the rains will come and I'll be able to canoe from my front door to the grocery store.

You have a canoe! Awesome!

I would use a tub :)

Actually, we don't have a canoe, I would have to use a tub or something, but my wife remembers when she was a kid the flood waters getting high enough that people were canoeing down the street in front of the house.
