Are kids really that advanced?

As I was doing some Brain Quest Grade 1 cards with a Five Year Old (the cards are designed for 6-7 year olds, but she aced the previous ones already) we came upon the following question: "What runs on batteries a desktop or a laptop?" She of course did not know, but a question popped into my head. Would they know? Should they know? She knows what a computer is. She also is quite proficient in using the mouse and knows her way around the Webkinz world. We also have plenty of laptops and desktops in our house. To her it's only computers. The difference between a desktop and a laptop? I am not sure about this.

Dangerous Animal Part 2

I said that I wasn't going to be satisfied with the header image. Here's an updated one. I've decided to model in 3D all the things in my interest(few for now). One of the more curious thing is the Enterprise model (it's not mine, was available for download at TurboSquid. I was always more of the TNG person. I think, time permitting, I will model NC-1701D. The blueprints are available on the internet. I will of course add more things as I go forth.

Sports talk

I want to address two issues today. A lot of people now bemoaning the fact that Kyle Orton has a 6-0 season and Jay Cutler has only been able to post a 3-2. Give it a rest people! Mr. Orton was able to find a team where evrything clicked for him, that is the only reason Denver is lossless. It doesn't mean that he would have six wins had he stayed with Da Bears. Cedric Benson is having a good season with the Bengals, and he is coming back to play against the Bears. I am actually happy for the guy. He is one of the few athletes, who realized that you have to work your ass off to play in the NFL. Dismissal from the team did him good. And that's how I see it.

History

I barely found the place, but this is where I remember my childhood. The two tall interconnected buildings on the corner. The only available photo on the right is the fire station. The H looking building to the left and a bit up is our school. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=47.207951,39.615766&num=1&t=h&sll=47.210998,39.633608&sspn=0.048819,0.179063&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=&ll=47.207354,39.618738&spn=0.010233,0.027788&z=16&lci=com.panoramio.all

Weekly News Update, Jukebox...

I have officially been with some sort of cold-like symptom for a month now. It sucks. I have also somehow hurt my back, which suck even more. All this health suckage is sucking. Everything else is great. :) Here'a bit of George T. for your enjoyment.

About pet pevees

I've mentioned before somewhere, that my biggest pet peeve is when hoo-mans treat their animals like toys, dressing them up, painting nails, etc... These photos (thank you Awesome Wife for link) deepened my dislike of these people even more. Although, the Panda Poodle looks just cool. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/32581670/ns/today-today_pets_and_animals/displaymode/1247/?beginSlide=1

Bored developer is a dangerous animal

I have a lot of work, but all of it is quite boring. When I am tired and bored I find escape in graphic design. That lead me to creating a new header image for the blog. Why this particular image? I don't know. I always wanted to create something sci-fi looking. A font I have found online gave me an insparation to create 3D text, and reminded me how to do 3d materials. The circles and sci-fi looking crap was done by me searching for all sorts of brushes for pgraphics soft. maybe I should have done flowers and squiggly lines. I'll probably get sick of this pretty fast. So I'll do another one.

Life or somethink like it

I've been busy lately with work and school. And didn't really have anything to write about. Lots of boring stuff. I am in the 6th week of school already, and a group project Phase 1 is active status. I am going by the path of least resistance at the moment, so I went along with the group's topic of Using Twitter for Pharmaceutical Company. Meh, it's a topic. I'll do my part. I have some difficulty with taking an online course. Since it is paced diffirently than school session method I find it hard not having strict timelines and due dates. The Baby is actively communicating now through goos, gaas, and other variety of gutteral sounds. she's is into her 4th month now. The head and neck muscles have much more control, and she is trying, although unsuccessfully, to pull herself up by grabbing my thumbs. She is also starting to accompany smiles by what can be classified as laughter sounds. The Five Year Old is becoming more strong willed by the day. She pulled a bi
